Throughout this semster I have worked on alot of projects that play a particular
part in my overall theme. I have made projects incluing bowls, vases, lidded
projects, a tea pot and many of mugs. I have worked hard on mastering new
techniques such as working with larger amounts of clay, pulling up taller
projects, making new lids, plates, and tea pots and overall I have bettered
myself as a ceramics student. My projects all fit the theme of: Accent
Colors.
In an overview of the year, I have made many bowls, a
plate, a set of three, a wheel altered project, a cylinder project, a lidded project, a
few mugs and a tea pot. Many of these projects are glazed similarly, all
corresponding to my overall theme. The shape and the structures of these project
differ from eachother but they all fit my theme because they are mostly glazed in clear
with one or two choice colors to be accented.
In accordance to how I made my projects, this semster I have also developed many new skills on and off the wheel. This year I learned how to make different things such as plates,
a new type of lid and a spout. These new techniques bettered my projcets much
like my new style of glazing did. This semster I glazed most of my projects in a
simple dipping fashion which is simple enough to show off the structure of the
project while also being interesting enough to be an acceptable design. Off of
the wheel I also bettered myself as a teacher. As an advanced student I spent
alot of my time helping out some of the other students which taught me patience
as well as slowing myslef down when I got on the wheel. This semester I "went back to the
basics" and made better projects.
I like the theme I chose and believe that my projects fit very well with it. By choosing accent
colors as my theme I spent more time on perfecting the structure of my projects
when I was on the wheel rather than concentrating on the design of the galze. I
like the way that the simple glaze emphasizes the hard work that I put into the
design/structure of my project.
My theme bettered me as a ceramic student too. I spent more time on the wheel perfecting my projects rather than trying to rush, get them done, and try to hide the "mess-ups" once i
got in the glaze room. My theme concentrates on the art of the structure over
the art of the galze.

Paragraph one: (introduction)
In this paragraph I would list all of the projects I have made as well as list the different techniques I have used thorough out the semester. Most of this will be restating each of the paragraphs I wrote that are located on my grading blog. This is also the paragraph that I would state my theme: accent colors.
Paragraph two: (what)
This is where I would go into more detail to describe exactly what I have made. This would include each project including name of the project, shape, color, etc. All of my projects are bowls, tall projects, plate, set of three, wheel altered, choice, wheel cylinder, lidded project, theme choice(s), hand and wheel, tea pot
Paragraph three: (how)
In this paragraph I would go into more detail of how I made the things/ the new skills and techniques I used this semester. His would include throwing more clay/making bigger projects, pulling up/making tall projects, perfecting handles, new type of lid, new tools, new glazing, attaching (handles, spouts, etc).
Paragraph four: (why is this the theme)
How my projects show the theme and why I chose it. I like it because..... It emphasizes the structure... Simple to show... Etc, etc, etc
Paragraph five: (conclusion)
Everything comes together... Why my work/my theme is important

For my theme idea I think that I have decided to focus on accent colors for all of my projects. I like glazing my projects clear with a single accent color in order to emphasize the structure of my projects with a simple glaze as well as an emphasis on the color and the way that it shows up on the project.
